Court declines Manson case review in California
California Supreme Court refuses to reconsider Charles Manson and three women involved in the southern California murders. The decision follows appeals from Manson and the state AG after a Court of Appeal ruling that upheld Manson and two women's convictions but reversed the murder and conspiracy conviction of Leslie Van Houten.

College Offers Preparation for IRS Audit
Allan Hancock College presents a lecture on auditing procedures to help attendees prepare for an Internal Revenue Service audit. The Dec. 15 session in Santa Maria’s Science Complex room 1 at 7:30 p.m. features IRS agent Larry Hill as moderator and a film titled Why Mr. Tom Krolich. The program is co sponsored by the college and the Santa Maria Chamber of Commerce, with a similar lecture planned for Jan. 12 at the Lompoc public library.

Nine year old girl hurt crossing street in Lompoc
Lydia Angelica Medina nine is hospitalized in good condition after being struck by a car driven by Shawn Stanley Verde nineteen as she crossed H Street and Maple Avenue with companion Josephine Hernandez eleven. Verde was involved in the accident and police reported the incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday.
