The Santa Maria Lompoc Aerospace Chapter of the Retired Officers Association held its 1977 officers installation at the Vandenberg Air Force Base Officers Club. Lt Col Engelhardt administered the oath to LeRoy Petersen Howard Hamilton John Ryan Robert Baray Robert Livingston and T Johnson. A social hour dinner and Yuletime decor preceded a Coronados Orchestra dance.
Soroptimist International of Lompoc met at Beverly Hash’s home for a shared dinner. They reserve Veterans Memorial Building for Saturday November 12 1977 for the fourth annual Bazaar. A Christmas project family was chosen and Santa Barbara club forms Carpinteria charter. Christmas party set for December 16 at Dorothy Osmundsen’s with potluck dinner.
The Miguelito Circle Order of the Eastern Star hosts a Christmas party on December 10 at the Lompoc Masonic Temple 420 E. Fir Ave. A 6 30 p.m. potluck dinner with no gift exchange and a drive to donate clean old sheets for the cancer dressing station accompanies annual officer installation. Maura Andrews is president and June Hoover vice president with Bernice Lunden as secretary treasurer.
Vicki Lee Sarraj bride of Muhammad AL Sarraj of Damascus Syria was honored at a Saturday night bridal shower hosted by her mother La Vonne Bee at the family home 421 South A Street. Guests included sisters Betty Heath Robin Tammy and Terry Bee and Barbara Wolfe and Ruth Manseau among others from Solvang Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara area venues.

The Vandenberg and Lompoc Christian Women’s Clubs host a holiday brunch on December 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Royal Coach Restaurant with a $3.25 fee. Tuesday features “Christmas Gifts with Love” with executive gifts, songs by Libby Rowland, Phyllis Jay and Carolyn Tyler. Wednesday showcases “The Beauty of Christmas” by Laura Wagner with Gamblin Family singers. Reservations are required in Vandenberg, Lompoc, or Santa Ynez. A preschool nursery is offered by reservation.
