Peace Church dedicates choir robes on Advent Sunday

The Peace Lutheran Church held a dedication of new choir robes during Sunday services the first Advent Sunday. Rev. David H. Miller officiated as the choir fund-raising project funded the red robes with white stoles and gold crosses. Delman Howe directed and Debbie Welsh accompanied the choir. The event honored memory of Martin Wood and three other named relatives.

Pack 62 Cub Scouts Hold November Award Ceremony

Pack 62 Cub Scouts at United Methodist Church presented awards across three dens and Webelos. Den 1 awarded wolf badges and arrows to Henshaw Ortez Bovee. Den 2 welcomed recruiters and bobcat badges including Carey Giles Armstrong Tyler. Den 3 saw Oliveira Lafferty Kuester with wolf badges and arrows. Webelos Giles earned bear badge while Sousa Oliveira Orem and others received arrows of light and related honors. Joe Van Metre Gautreaux Hodgson earned citizen and explorer designations. Alex Orem crossed to Boy Scout Troop 63 with Scoutmaster Roy Bray officiating.

Christmas Wish puppet show at United Church Vandenberg Village

Children invited to a two show afternoon event at United Church Vandenberg Village on December 8 and 15 at 2 pm. Admission 25 cents for children 50 cents for adults. Proceeds go to the church.

Vanderbelles to present Christmas music concert

The Vanderbelles choral group will present a Christmas concert Sunday December 16 at 7 30 PM in the base main chapel. The program titled Sounds of Christmas is directed by Bonnie Victor Fried and sponsored by Protestant Women of the Chapel. A reception follows with officers Wives board members. Featured soloists include Donna Crown Linda Simmons Sharon Kuhlenschmidt Karen Seaberg Sue Gornall and Sharon Rose. The choir has grown from 14 to over 30 voices and recently sang for the Minerva Club of Santa Maria and Alpha Clubs of Lompoc.
