Israel bombs Palestinian guerrilla camps across Lebanon
Israeli warplanes raid guerrilla camps near Nabatieh and Tripoli with clashes reported in northern and southern Lebanon. Lebanese and PLO spokesmen cite scores dead or wounded, including civilians, as Israeli officials say planes returned safely. The strikes follow a U N Security Council move on Palestinian participation. An earlier February 1973 attack on Nahr al Bared and Baddawi is recalled. The Israeli government also approves four new Golan Heights settlements, aimed at boosting northern border security.
