Planners reject property split proposal near Buellton Lompoc
County Planning Commission votes unanimously against Vernal Meadows plan to divide about 100 acres north of State Route 246 into three 10 acre ranchettes and a larger parcel amid strong opposition from neighboring ranchers and farmers. Opponents warn the zoning change endangers agriculture and increases erosion while raising service burdens for a remote area seven miles from Buellton and ten miles from Lompoc.
