The Record accidentally left off Bob Titus in the Lompoc High School honor roll published Friday. Titus, a freshman, earned six A’s and a B to make the list. Also notes a Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District meeting and a high school locker fire causing about 200 dollars in damage.

Five coastal counties redeclared rabies area in 1969
The California State Department of Public Health redeclared a rabies area for Monterey San Benito San Luis Obispo Santa Barbara and Ventura counties effective Tuesday for one year. Dr Louis F Saylor said 16 animal cases this year spurred the action with skunks most involved and two bat cases reported. Santa Cruz was excluded due to no cases.

McNamara Named to Cal Tech Board of Trustees

Lumber blaze devastates Ambrose Mill in Santa Barbara area
A six acre Ambrose Mill and Lumber yard fire on Highway 101 caused an estimated 500000 in damage to finished lumber and building materials. Two Santa Barbara firefighters were injured and several diesel trucks and sheds burned as flames were seen for miles along the coast.
