Lompoc Chess Club Opens Premier Tournament Trophied
Chess editor Vaughn Proctor announces the first club championship in a double round robin for the Johns Manville trophy at the new Lompoc City Library. The five month old club meets Aug 21 and Aug 28 before the Sept 7 Sunday start, with options for missed sessions and makeup games. A Ventura and Monterey festival circuit with cash prizes is planned, plus a Labor Day weekend California Open.
