Veterans hold district meeting and coast guard visit
Veterans of World War I in the U S A 7th District of California met August 17 at the Veterans Memorial Building in Santa Barbara with Ernest Steiner of San Luis Obispo newly elected as commander and a full staff of officers representing 1000 veterans in 12 barracks. The ladies auxiliary, officers from the Department of California and guests attended. George A Downey of Lompoc serves on the Coast Guard Cutter Sebago in the Gulf of Siam, part of the Medical Civil Action Program, which distributed candy to island children after it was donated by local merchants in Pensacola.
