Winnie Ruth Judd Begins Return Trip To Arizona Hospital
Winnie Ruth Judd, the so called trunk murderess, begins the journey back to the Arizona mental hospital from which she escaped seven years ago. The 64 year old, who fled in 1962, worked in Contra Costa County as a sitter and housekeeper before her June arrest. Governor Reagan ordered her extradition to Phoenix, with a court surrender to be arranged. Sheriff’s deputies will collect her, and she may face psychiatric examination on release.
Milner Attacks Johnson Policy On County Vehicle Use
District Attorney David D. Milner calls County Administrator Ray Johnsons rules on using county vehicles by DA investigators arbitrary. Milner appeals to the County Board of Supervisors after a hearing was set for Monday morning. He argues investigators must drive vehicles home to handle night and weekend work, warning of increased overtime and wasted time.
