Ray Kroc seeks 20 acre lot split in Santa Ynez ranch

Ray Kroc has applied to Santa Barbara County for a 20 acre parcel split within his 209 acre ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley's Happy Canyon area. The request, signed by agent Glenn Marchbanks, will be reviewed by the County Subdivision Committee. The ranch, used for McDonald’s seminars and Kroc Foundation work, also houses research kitchens, laboratories, 40 cows, horses, and retrievers.

Eight-year-old bicyclists injured in separate crashes

Richard James Kroemer Jr. of 1417 E Lemon Ave was hit in the 1400 block of E Lemon Ave and treated at Lompoc Hospital. Police seek the driver who fled. Stephen W. Krozier of 578 Venus Ave was injured when his bike collided with Debora Kay Thompson’s car at about 7 p.m. in Vandenberg Village.

Kendall and two others was towed to Morro Bay by the Coast Guard cutter Resolute after a 10 day air sea search. 73 aircraft missions and 235000 square miles were covered as search efforts spread across the Pacific amid engine failure reports.

Walter E. Mills 59 of Indiana died after illness in Lompoc District Hospital while visiting his son William Mills at 501 South R Street. Graveside services for 16 year old Jefferey Paul Skeeters of Santa Ynez will be Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery Ballard. he died after a Goleta Valley Hospital injury sustained in a traffic crash. Skeeters was a Santa Ynez Valley Union High School student and Sambos 店 employee. he is survived by his parents Jon and ? LAFCO to study Goleta annexation at next session

The Local Agency Formation Commission will discuss annexation of Goleta Valley to Santa Barbara at its next meeting on Thursday Aug 22. Public hearings likely later in September to shape a proposal for final approval by the Board of Supervisors and Santa Barbara City Council. County supervisors will meet Aug 26 to compare incorporation with annexation under two tier government.
