Lompoc City Council appoints Artis to Housing Code Board
The council reappointed Louise Artis to the Housing Code Board of Appeals. It failed to fill two Beautification Committee seats ending Aug. 31, and will likely appoint Evelyn Cameron and Harry Jones at the Aug. 18 meeting. The meeting also approved a Parks and Recreation Commission date change to the second Wednesday.

Annita Louise Candelaria, 17, of 4049 Solar Way, near Santa Lucia Canyon, veered off Lompoc Casmalia Road while reaching for groceries. Her car spun into a ditch, suffering minor damage. She was treated at Vandenberg AFB Hospital and later returned to recover her vehicle.
