Council picks bond issue consultants

Battle continues to halt Big Sur blaze
Firefighters and hippie volunteers fought the Big Sur wildfire as it burned 3,500 acres toward the Ventana Wilderness. Winds eased from 50 to 15 mph aiding containment within two to three days. Over 2,000 residents fled while 1,400 firefighters and heavy equipment worked to build defenses.
