Transcripts to Capitol Hill in Nixon Watergate case

A black station wagon transporting edited transcripts of Watergate conversations was driven to Capitol Hill for House impeachment investigators. President Nixon promised 1,200 pages of edited transcripts by the 10 a.m. deadline but refused to provide actual tape recordings of 42 conversations, citing the transcripts as sufficient.

Nixon to give House committee transcripts of Watergate tapes
