Silver Anniversary Party for Mr and Mrs Henry Dettamanti

A silver wedding anniversary celebration was held for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dettamanti at the Elks Clubhouse on Sunday. Hosts were their children Mrs John Watkins of Goleta and Ben Dettamanti. The couple married April 30, 1944 at La Purisima Catholic Church. Four wedding party members attended including Mrs Clark Emmons and Wallace Grossi Jr. The event featured punch bowls presided by cousins and nieces, cake served by Mrs Emmons, and best wishes from Ernest Antolini by telephone.

DAR program highlights beef industry and community service

The Captain Henry Sweetser Chapter DAR hosted a Santa Barbara County event with speaker Mrs Ted Chamberlin detailing California beef industry as the state’s economic cornerstone. Officers announced hospital gift boxes, plans for a July citizenship reception, and DAR participation in Memorial Day services in Santa Maria and Lompoc.

Lompoc Jr Alpha Club Wins Big At District Convention

Lompoc Alpha Club members returned from the Tierra Adorado District convention in Westlake Hotel Conejo Valley with multiple first place awards for press publicity and international affairs, second and third place honors, and honorable mentions. Mrs. Paulin presided as district president, with notable presentations including a silver tray and maple chest scrapbook for the president, while Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Boone participated as newly elected leaders.

Miss Timberlake a Riverside college sociology major and Who's Who honoree led the two day Pacific Baptist Association Girls Auxiliary house party at First Southern Baptist Church Lompoc. Delegations from Santa Maria Atascadero Grover City San Luis Obispo Solvang and more attended as Miss Timberlake directed skits songfest and fellowship.

Viva Mexico Party Held At 4033 Clubhouse Road

Mrs. Carl Burris hosted a Viva Mexico themed party at her home 4033 Clubhouse Road. Guests wore red hostess attire and received handmade menu folders with recipes for hot hors d oeuvres Sangritas and a Mexican meal including chicken tortilla casserole and enchiladas.

FCI Auxiliary elects new officers and hosts meeting

Mrs. Charles Titlow is the newly elected president of the Ladies Auxiliary at Federal Correctional Institution. Other officers named are Mrs. Roderick Brewer vice president Mrs. Tim Keohane secretary and Mrs. Roy Galloway treasurer Installation will be May 19 with a potluck dinner. About 45 members attended a book review on Airport by Haley presented by Mrs. Joseph B. Bogan.

Bridge Instruction Offered by Lompoc Recreation

The Lompoc Parks and Recreation Department will run a five week bridge course for intermediate to advanced players starting April 30. Classes meet 7 to 9 p.m. at the recreation center 105 S. C St. Registrations are accepted at the recreation office or at the first class. For more information call 6-1261 ext. 51.
