California Senate panel backs wiretap bill for crime probes
The Judiciary Committee approved two Deukmejian bills to permit judge approved wiretaps in drug and organized crime cases for ten days with exhaustion of other means. Officials must notify recorded conversations and misuse carries penalties. The measure faces Finance Committee review.
