Hancock Bulldogs sweep Merced J.C. in doubleheader

Sophomores Bob Howell and Lynn Bautista powered Hancock to a two game victory run over Merced J.C. in a Saturday doubleheader 5 3 and 6 21. Howell had three hits and three RBIs in game one while Bautista slugged a three hit six RBI performance in game two. Hancock improves to 11 3 in league play and 21 7 overall with Cuesta up next on the schedule.

New York senior ice dancing champs crown title pair

Andrea Peterson and Guy Sexton of West Orange New Jersey won the New York senior dance title at the Middle Atlantic Ice Skating championships defeating Susan Kelley of Needham Massachusetts and Andrew Strouhoff of Belleville New Jersey. Susan Mastroni of Hartford Connecticut won the junior ladies title.

Bucks take 2 0 lead in NBA finals over Bullets

Milwaukee routed Baltimore 102 83 to grab a 2 0 series edge in the NBA final. Lew Alcindor 27 points 24 rebounds Oscar Robertson 22 points while Jack Marin led Baltimore with 22. Bucks face game three in Milwaukee Wednesday with a possible sweep next Friday in Baltimore.
