Man Lives in Cardboard Box Home in Tallahassee
Harvey Smith, 67, unemployed baker, survives in a cardboard box on a wooded lot near downtown Tallahassee. On $136.90 monthly Social Security, he cooks on a camp stove, washes in a can of water, and stores belongings at a separate bus-station locker. He hopes to build a proper shelter but remains in his box, relying on a wool blanket and library visits for comfort.
