Ground-breaking ceremony planned for Santa Ynez project
A ground-breaking ceremony for a new two‑phase multi purpose building and campground on the 87 acre Santa Ynez Indian Reservation is set for this Sunday at 2 p.m. Attendees include Santa Ynez Band of Indians members and chairman Edward Olivas, architect Guy Salts, Bureau of Indian Affairs officials, and a representative of the American Revolution Bicentennial Project which funded 210 000 dollars. The band will hold a brief business meeting after the event.

Valley Schools to stage Open houses next week
Four Santa Ynez Valley elementary schools and the Santa Ynez Valley High School will host open houses and special programs for Public Schools Week from Monday through Thursday. The observances are organized with the Santa Ynez Valley Masonic Lodge and Dr. Arnold Eyre as program chairman. Dr Eyre notes April is Public Schools Month and the week aims to boost community relations and understanding of public education.
