Guidelines for County Redistricting Recommendations
The ad hoc County Redistricting Committee seeks to reshape supervisorial boundaries to align each of five districts near 20 percent of the population using 1970 census data. County Counsel George Kading supports this, noting the law aims for proportional districts. The panel favors extending the First District to Santa Ynez Valley and moving Guadalupe to the Fourth District, with Orcutt staying in the Fifth District as before.
