Nixon not considering new wage price freeze

Southwick to be Grand Marshal of 1973 Flower Festival
Navy Commander Everett Southwick of Lompoc will preside as grand marshal of the 1973 Flower Festival. Flower Festival chairman Jim Hernandez said Southwick consented to be at least one grand marshal. The couple postponed their European trip after the festival and a crowd greeted them at Lompoc Airport as he wore an I Like Lompoc button.

Lompoc Unified School District trustees race sees light turnout
Balloting was light early today as voters chose two trustees from ten candidates in Lompoc. About 9 to 10 percent of registered voters had cast ballots by 11 a.m. at ten polling places. Polls stay open until 8 p.m. with results projected at 1301 North A St. after closing. Local official Bob Kirkpatrick expects an early decision though some absentee ballots may be counted Thursday morning.
