MGIC draft sights horse farms plan for Gaviota coast

MGIC Equities Corp won county approval to delete plans for a 1 415 unit RV park on Hollister Ranch and may pursue a subdivision of horse farms on west Gaviota coast. Atttorney George H. Allen says such use under 100 acre zoning is a possibility as MGIC seeks rezoning revocation. Planning staff and commissioners weigh tax impact and coastal public access potential and express mixed views on the idea. Morgan Macco, tied to Penn Central bankruptcy, sold the land to MGIC last fall. MGIC explains permit conditions could not be met.
