Dam permit ruling due for Salsipuedes Creek project

City Attorney Alan Davidson says delays in obtaining required reports risk losing the reservoir permit on Salsipuedes Creek. A State Water Resources Control Board hearing was held April 6 with a ruling on extension or cancellation expected later this month.

Tract map okayed for 38 homes in Lompoc

Lompoc planners approved a tentative nine acre parcel plan for 38 single family homes bounded by North Oak Avenues and O and R streets. The project preserves an 1888 deed restricting liquor on the land and faces no environmental impact. The commission also denied a proposed earth borrow from a nearby multi family parcel for grading, citing safety and future channel work. Patchy low clouds bring fair weather through Wednesday with highs 67 to 72.

Carter to unveil anti inflation plan in Friday press conference

President Carter will hold a Friday news conference to present his anti inflation program. Press Secretary Jody Powell said the time is not yet set and the event will be national television. Carter aims to consult Congress and labor and management before outlining the package and seeks voluntary industry restraints rather than wage or price controls.

County weighs who pays for trial witnesses in Santa Barbara case

The Board of Supervisors said the district attorney should cover living expenses for four impecunious trial witnesses, estimating $500 to $600 monthly from county relief funds. Lompoc Loses Appeal Over Trash Plant at North Gateway

Lompoc failed to overturn a County Planning Commission decision approving a five year conditional use permit for a rubbish facility at the Highway 1 north gateway.
