Lom poc Unified School District organizes board seating

Donald Adams and Robert Coe will be seated as new board members at the Lom poc Unified School District Board of Education organizational meeting. The board will elect a president vice president and clerk and choose representatives for bargaining negotiations salary review and county committee. James Swartz and his Westwings Elementary sixth grade class will present a marionette show at the 7 p.m. meeting.

Boeing payoff tugged in Tokyo newspaper report

A Tokyo paper said All Nippon Airways received more than 500000 from Boeing in a deal linked to a 12 million Lockheed payoff. ANA denied the figure, claiming only about 70000 in cooperation payments for publicity and a golf tournament.

Carter policy threatens Nonproliferation Treaty unity

Burglary string sparks arrests in Lompoc area

A 19 year old transient male was arrested inside La Canada School and booked on burglary charges. Bail was set at 2000. The weekend spree included eight burglaries with losses to Floyd Parkinson Stephen Caldwell Rogers Ronald Israel and Jack Enright. Stillman’s Cleaners also targeted. inventory and investigations continue. Community outreach and a home security seminar are planned at Cabrillo High School Little Theater Tuesday at 7 30 PM.

Seized Soviet trawler arrives in Boston Harbor

The U S Coast Guard towed the 275 foot Taras Shevchenko into Boston Harbor after confiscating fish from the Soviet refrigerator ship Antanas Snechkus. About 93 crewmen waved from the trawler’s top deck as Rep Gerry Studds observed and suggested the vessel could become a museum in New Bedford. Civil or criminal charges on the Antanas Snechkus depend on later review of catches and documents.

Virginian arrested for hospital con games across the country

Terry Wayne Harrison, 33, of Claremont Virginia, was arrested at Lompoc Hospital on charges of forging and grand theft after admitted to hospitals nationwide using another man’s ID. Bail set at 2500 dollars as FBI and police from several communities probe the case and unpaid bills exceed 8000 dollars.
