Kennedy Space Center officer to speak at Chamber luncheon

Walter Dundon public affairs officer at NASA Kennedy Space Center will headline the Chamber of Commerce Women's Division luncheon on Monday. He will discuss space program benefits and preview a 28 minute film Short Steps Giant Strides recapping the program. Buffet lunch at noon. reservations required.

Art program featured at Lompoc Woman's Club luncheon

The Wednesday luncheon at Village Country Club showcased member paintings with guest artist Leslie Mayer demonstrating multiple mediums including a felt tip pen drawing. Meeting duties were led by Mary Frances Berkey in president Madeline Akronowitz's absence, highlighting the club's arts focus.

Good Will Talk by Linda Courtemanche for Alpha Rho Girls Club

Linda Courtemanche executive director of the Lompoc Girls Club spoke at a meeting hosted by Alpha Alpha Rho Beta Sigma Phi at Mrs. Philip Hunt home. She described activities and goals for girls ages 6 to 18 and sorority members donated goods to assist the club. A Western party with square dancing and other games was held at Ms. Millie Bedingfield’s home with a March 30 menu of barbecue steak beans salad and French bread. A cotton candy bake sale is planned for Saturday at the Lompoc Shopping Center from 10 am to 5:30 pm and the group voted to donate their cotton candy machine to the Girls Club for use at the CC Women’s Flea Market on April 20 at Lompoc High School parking lot.

Flea Market to Benefit Lompoc Community Center Fund

Lompoc High School parking lot hosts the Chamber of Commerce Women's Division Flea Market on April 20. Gates open 7 a.m. setup and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. admission. Space rental is $5 per two car space with proceeds supporting the Community Center fund. Tickets for a Amtrak trip prize go on sale during the event or via division members.
