Lompoc Art Week showcases theater music and dance
Lompoc hosts Art Week April 16 23 coordinated by the Lompoc Valley Art Association with Chamber of Commerce Merchants Division. LVAA presents You Know I Can t Hear You When the Water Is Running at Valley Playhouse directed by Dennis Bero with admission 1 150 75 cents children. Griego Piano Concerto in A minor features Jan Corser soloist under Duane Baker. Dance by Lompoc School of Ballet includes Ballet Whirl fairy solos and Tschaikovsky Sleeping Beauty selections. LVAA Spring Art Show runs in the library April 14 16 with a Friday reception from 7 30 to 9 30 pm. Lompoc Music Association hosts two spring concerts April 15 8 pm at Vandenberg Jr High and April 16 3 pm at United Methodist Church. The School of Ballet presents concerts April 20 21 at 7 30 pm Fillmore Elementary. A student art contest runs week long with works displayed at local businesses. Valley Playhouse performs April 22 23 at City Hall Auditorium 8 pm. Gem and Mineral Society display in lobby. Artists Street Show at Lompoc Shopping Center April 22 10 am 5 pm.

Exhibition of new oils by Madge Elliott opens in Montecito
An April 16 opening at the Austin Gallery in Montecito features Madge Elliott’s first Santa Barbara exhibition. The artist, trained at UCLA Scripps and other schools, presents nature themed, subjective impressionist works with bold color and motion. The show runs through May 15 with a Sunday preview and reception 4 to 6 PM.
