Secretaries Week observed April 18 to 24 with events

The 20th annual Secretaries Week will run April 18 24 with Secretaries Day on April 21. The National Secretaries Association International sponsors activities across education government industry and the professions to honor secretaries and promote Better Secretaries Mean Better Business.

Summer camping program planned for Girl Scouts

Plans for the 1971 summer camping program for Girl Scouts in northern Santa Barbara County have been announced by Mrs. James Millis. Day camps will be held at Newlove Picnic Grounds in Santa Maria Valley and at North Star campground in the Lompoc Valley. Camp Tecuya in Los Padres National Forest near Frazier Park will run June 27 to August 22 with eight and twelve day options for Scouts third grade and up.

Methodists Bid Farewell to Wilkies at Church Party

Youth department led a gala farewell for Bobby and Onalee Wilkie who depart April 1 for Dallas area. Bobby plans to enter Perkins School of Theology this September. The event included Texas songs, skits, gifts of two books, a coffee maker, a farewell card, a silver service, cake, poem and a camping club bell with guests including the Wilkies’ parents.

Amaranths prepare for installation in Lompoc temple

Flower Valley Court 142 Order of the Amaranth holds a Friday rehearsal at 7 p.m. for installation ceremonies on April 24 at 8 p.m. in the Lompoc Masonic Temple. Public invited. Gustafson Jr marital rites held in Stockholm
