Inspection of Naval Reserve at Santa Maria Facility
The annual inspection of Naval Reserve Surface Division 116 S took place at the Santa Maria training facility yesterday and last evening. Lt. Cmdr. M R Coleman led the inspection with Cdr. Gene Wahlers city manager of Lompoc and eight Santa Barbara training center enlisted personnel observing. Coleman praised the unit calling it one of the best he has inspected. The NRSD 116 S commanding officer is Lt. Cmdr. John Gilbert of San Luis Obispo with Lt. Richard MacKinnon from Santa Maria as executive officer and Hancock College instructor.
