J Bricks Dead Logan Founder Passes Away

Thomas B E Ricks, longtime Fremont stake president, died Saturday morning in Rexburg Idaho. A pioneer figure linked with Utah history since 1849, he helped build churches, fought Indians, owned Logan properties, and led the Fremont Stake. Born July 7, 1823 in Kentucky, he joined the Morgan church in 1845 and traveled to Salt Lake City with the John Smith party. He endured the 1849-50 trek, helped settle the Shield River area, served missions, and guided the Betovock Ward and Fremont Stake. His death ends a prominent life in church leadership and local development.

Fragmented OCR recalls a health cure claim and sanitarian note amid a Salt area, mentioning purchases and a dire medical landscape. The garbled text references a well, East Side Sanitarian, and North Stentford, with likely emphasis on a remedy and local health concerns, though specifics are unclear.
