The former Peter Mortensen home tied to a murder case was transferred to Henry Mortensen after his arrest. The mortgage of 650 held by Pacific Lumber was reassigned to Mr. Stewart as part of a bid to raise funds for a new trial and to secure the case if a new trial is obtained.

Tragedy Homicide and Drowning Reported in Utah Areas

A grim double tragedy unfolds as a husband shoots his wife and then dies by suicide in Brigham City amid a domestic dispute. Nearby, Olver Smith, about 24, drowns in Bear River near Centerville, with his body recovered and to be shipped home. Deputy Sheriff Naylor and others witnessed the events.

Trial of Cases and Others Continued June Term Began

The June term trials opened with Thomas B. Perrin versus James Cantwell over sheep rights, resulting in a $104 verdict for Perrin. Other cases, George Roth against David Eccles and Samuel McMuerdie against A. A. Law, were continued. Albert Savage versus Joseph Hall was held for trial later by consent. The jury will be discharged as the current case ends.

Republican Convention Called for Cache County Schools

A Republican convention is called to nominate a County Superintendent of District Schools for Cache County. It will meet at Eccles-Howell Hall in Logan Utah on Saturday June 28 at 2 p m with one delegate for every 25 votes cast for congressman in the last election.
