Logan City Council weighs Home Telephone franchise terms
At a regular meeting the Logan city Council debated a two page ordinance granting a 25 year Home Telephone company franchise with cash payments, bond, and city perks. Company reps offered 10 percent of gross receipts instead of cash, prompting a minority report. A mass meeting and public vote were ordered, plus a plan to discuss street light cuts and other minor items.

Idaho Border Sheep Passage Rejected By Court
The United States circuit court of appeals reversed a Idaho circuit court ruling in a case by Jesse M. Smith and 40 others against Thomas Q. Lowe and others. The dispute involved driving about 72,000 sheep from Box Elder county Utah into Idaho to find pasture. The Idaho legislature had banned entry of out of state animals to curb disease, but the decision found the law aimed to shut out all foreign sheep rather than prevent disease.
