A six year old Logan girl named Anne Horwell was hit at W Hunter and Spring Streets at 3 24 p m. She sustained a fractured collar bone a slight concussion and bruises. The driver was 79 year old D L Johnson of Nelsonville Route 1. Witnesses say the child ran into the side of the car as it passed through a green light.

Two others Lee Wildermuth 20 Logan Rt. 3 and Charles Martin 19 Nelsonville Rt. 1 were fined 10 dollars plus costs in Mayor Joseph Phillips court for the same charge. Proffitt posted a 20 dollar bond for a 7 30 pm Saturday appearance.

Lake Logan Spillway Work Nears Completion
Final inspection by the Ohio Public Works Department is planned before filling Lake Logan to spillway level. Contractor Fred Brock completed virtually all corrective spillway work with concrete pours this week. Public Works engineer Sam Luckino will conduct the final inspection. The spillway had been three inches out of level last winter. Retaining walls for the new channel below the dam are finished with a 60 foot concrete section poured this week.
