Akron Ohio September 27 three men died in an empty carbon black storage tank at the General Tire and Rubber Co plant. James W Smith 39 of Kent entered the tank yesterday for an unknown reason and two others died trying to rescue him. Coroner C I Martin said blood samples point to carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide poisoning. two more workers 29 year olds were in serious condition. Firefighters with oxygen masks removed the victims.
