Meigs Marauders defeated Logan 13 8 in the SECL opener as a 61 yard bomb with 1 27 remaining sealed the win. Logan led 8 7 at halftime after a Kenny Culbertson touchdown and Meigs earlier score.
Cape Kennedy Florida AP Explorer 47 entered an earth orbit for a view of the magnetosphere a teardrop shaped field around the planet. NASA said the craft is on target and in good orbit as the mission proceeds.
Gary K. Gilkey of West Logan and Nettie Peppers of Columbus pleaded not guilty at arraignment before Judge Harley Meyer. Gilkey faces two counts of shooting with intent to wound tied to a July 17 Shake Shoppe parking lot incident, with trial set for Oct. 24. Peppers is charged with forgery and her trial date is Oct. 5.
John D.
