Ten Weekend Crashes In Hocking County Injure Six
Six persons were injured in ten separate traffic accidents across Hocking County over the weekend. A 13 year old bicyclist and a 9 year old passenger were hurt in an alley collision with a southbound auto on Hunter Street. A 16 year old youth pair sustained bruises in a single car crash on Vickers Road at Rt 328. Charles Mays and passengers were treated after a culvert crash on Rt 33. Mays cited for reckless operation. Robbe Perry suffered head and arm injuries when his car collided with a sleepy driver on Rt 33. both cars demolished. Further incidents included a single car sliding on railroad tracks near Hocking Hills Country Club Rd and two more crashes on Rt 93 and Hide A Way Hills Rd.

Traffic Delays as Ohio University Returns to Logan
Ohio University students returning to classes created heavy weekend traffic in Logan with jams in both Saturday and Sunday. The Hocking County sheriff's department deployed five officers Sunday and two on Saturday, while city police used four regulars and five auxiliaries at key intersections to direct traffic. Youth Clubbed Over Head In Robbery Attempt
Carl Lytle 17 of Rockbridge Route 1 was treated at Hocking Valley Community Hospital for a head injury after an attempted robbery at Certified Oil, 750 West Hunter Street, at 1 53 a m. He was unable to give details and police found a hose that may have been used as the weapon. He is listed in good condition. Nothing appeared to be stolen.
