Youth Placed Under Care Of Psychiatrist
Kenneth Bowman a 16 year old West Alexandria High student charged with the murder of his foster parents has been placed under the care of a Dayton psychiatrist. The questioning in a hospital yielded no new details about the Sept 4 deaths. Harold C Bowman 49 and Maybelle Bowman 46 were found dead in a burned car on Ohio 503. An autopsy cited a gunshot wound for Harold and possible strangulation for Maybelle. A warrant was issued for Kenneth’s arrest and charges filed.

Hillsboro grid star dies in US 50 crash
Hillsboro High School football player Larry Smith, 16, was killed in a two car collision on US 50 four miles west of Hillsboro. Teammate Herbert Rhoades, 16, was seriously injured along with three other occupants. Ray Blankenship and Ralph Pence Jr., both 16, were lightly bruised. Pence drove the car and was struck from the rear by a vehicle driven by Donald Jessee, 22, of Piketon after a game-night drive-in trip.
