Woman Dies In Rt. 180 Crash Fatal two car collision near Logan
A 43 year old New Marshfield woman, Charlotte M Stephenson, died when her southwestbound car collided head on with a car driven by 38 year old Eugene Karr on a hillcrest near Linns used car lot on Rt 180 south of Logan. Karr is in critical condition at University Hospital Columbus with chest and jaw injuries. Stephenson was hospitalized in fair condition with leg and elbow fractures. The sheriff also noted multiple other minor crashes and injuries in the area over the weekend including a one car on Rt 93N near Gore and a Walnut Rd. one car collision near Logan with injuries to two youths. A head on on Rt 33 near the Five Mile Inn left one driver moderately damaged and no injuries. A five year old Logan boy suffered a broken leg on Zanesville Ave near Oak Street treated at Hocking Valley Hospital then children's hospital in Columbus. No citations issued in several incidents. The patrol investigated a two car on Clay Lick Rd near Rt 93 with both cars damaged and one driver cited for driving left of center.

Nelsonville Seen As One Of Four Possible Plant Sites
A report by Jack Oakley, governor of the Nelsonville Board of Trade, places Nelsonville in the final four towns for a prospective industry after screening 28 towns from an original list of 100. The plant would start with 47 jobs in a 40 000 square foot building, expanding to 250 jobs in 150 000 square feet within eight years. a final stage would double figures. A final decision is due by Oct 7. Representatives from the company met local officials last week.
