Despite a morning rain delay the 1973 Hocking County Fair anticipated a strong Youth Day turnout. Activities resumed with reduced price rides by Gooding Amusement Co and a pony pulling contest planned for tonight. Attendance Thursday reached about two thousand three hundred with paid admissions higher than last year.

Duffeys Win Big At National Rose Show
Mr and Mrs Leslie Duffey of Logan Route 3 won two trophies and 14 ribbons in the National Rose Show at the Sheraton Columbus. In their first national competition they earned six blue ribbons two seconds two thirds and four honorable mentions as nearly 4000 roses were entered from across the continental United States. The pair previously collected trophies at shows in Xenia Springfield Newark and Lancaster and belong to the American Rose Society Buckeye District Society and Lancaster Rose Society.
