About 75 000 visitors flocked to Hocking Hills State Park over Labor Day weekend. Three people were injured in falls at Conkle's Hollow Old Man's Cave and Cedar Falls, with 39 park arrests including alcohol and marijuana violations. Nearby Lake Logan saw 5 315 visitors with swimmers and picnickers, while EMS and forestry crews handled rescues and weekend hospital traffic.

Two Cyclists Die in Ohio 93S Crash Near Logan
A motorcyclist and his passenger died in a three vehicle crash on Ohio 93 about half a mile south of Logan at 5 45 p m Sunday. Charles Harsh 19 Worthington and William Patten Jr 20 Marion were pronounced dead at the scene.

Man from Hocking County Sentenced in Mansfield
Russell Spence of Dicken Addition was convicted last week in Hocking County Common Pleas Court of selling marijuana and was sentenced today by Judge James Stilwell to six months to five years at Mansfield Reformatory. Spence has three prior misdemeanors and attorney Pat Nangle has filed for a new trial alleging state witness misconduct at the Aug. 30 trial.

The Old-Timers Weekend at City Park honored Nick Maniskas and Garrett and Tillie Ogg with ceremonies. Logan Mayor Evans Hand presented a commemorative plaque to Mrs. Maniskas as family looked on. The Oggs were crowned king and queen of the old-timers game, Tillie receiving roses and Garrett cologne. The event also saluted Logan American Legion Post 78 and Farmers & Merchants Bank teams, with 22-12 and 16-1 records respectively, and concluded with a color guard, Taps, and musical tributes by Logan High School.
