In Montgomery Alabama four armed rustlers tried to load cattle on L. J. Jones’s southern Alabama farm. Jones and three companions repelled the thieves firing on the car. The rustlers fled in a truck leaving a bloody hat and uncertainty over injuries.
Two 12 year old boys Jack Keating and Charles Fick were buried by falling earth at a Nelsonville gravel pit and severely injured. Keating suffered a broken right arm and leg while Fick fractured a collar bone. They were helped by workers from a nearby filling station and are reported recovering.
