In the north central region Iowa Illinois Ohio Indiana Kansas Nebraska lead the pace with Nebraska near 95 percent. A new Fred Ervin Award will debut at the Logan Junior High awards assembly Friday at 2 p.m. in the LHS auditorium. The prize honors the late teacher and goes to the top seventh grade science student for scholarship attitude and dedication. Logan Rt 3 Man Charged In Stop N Go Holdup Try

A Logan man, Jimmy R. Waddell twenty, is held in Hocking County jail on two thousand five hundred dollar bond after being charged with aggravated robbery for an attempted Stop N Go Store holdup at four hundred sixteen West Hunter Street Tuesday night. Clerk Effie Finnearty reported a knife point attempted robbery but she fought back, causing the would be robber to flee. EMS technicians observed Waddell with cuts and bruises and he was treated at Hocking Valley Community Hospital before charges were filed Wednesday. He requested court appointed counsel.
