On a sunny Rockport beach seven people died while attempting to save a 9 year old girl Janice Bailey who stepped into a deep hole. Also killed were her mother Margarita Tomas three other children and an Air Force chaplain Leonard Berry. Wayne Bailey witnessed the tragedy as the bodies were recovered within ninety minutes.
