Three Hocking Rail Crossings Get Amber Lights
Three railroad grade crossings on Rt 328 in Hocking County will receive continuously flashing amber caution lights this week. John Shaw, county superintendent of the state highway department, said the lights are part of a plan to install 50 across Ohio before Memorial Day weekend. The crossings are at Hocking Hills Country Club Shaw crossing south of the county home and midway between Union Furnace and Starr. Special crews from Columbus and Marietta are installing the lights.

Akron Area Auto Crash Kills Four in Summit County
Four people are dead and four injured in a two car crash on Ohio 82 east of Macedonia in Summit County. Victims include Donald P. Haverland 27 of Twinsburg his wife Mary and their one year old son Robert H. and Leroy R. Rivers 28 of Cleveland. The Haverland child Tommy 4 is hospitalized in serious condition. Three others from the Rivers car Eugene Brown 25 Roberta Gibbs 22 and Beverly Fayne 22 all of Cleveland are in critical condition. The Haverland car was turning left when struck. it was knocked back 220 feet.
