Two Hurt as Motorcycles Hit Train in Tunnel Near Mineral
Two Hocking Countians were injured when motorcycles collided with a B and O freight train inside a tunnel near Mineral in Athens County. Richard Nihizer, 28, suffered chest and facial injuries and was moved to University Hospital in Columbus in satisfactory condition, while Richard Spencer, 24, had minor injuries and was not treated. The incident occurred at 12 40 p m as the eastbound vehicles rode along the tracks and were struck by the locomotive. The tunnel spans 400 to 500 feet.
