A violent windstorm swept through the Hocking Valley on Sunday evening disrupting electric and telephone service across the county. Logan reported 0.3 inches of rain. outages were mainly caused by downed trees and a fuse at the North Sub-Station, with service restored by 9 p.m. No serious damage was noted by Ohio Power Co. manager Frank Roe. Sheriff Hartman noted a possible plane strike report that could not be confirmed. Weather for Monday was sunny and warm with a mid 80s high forecast.

Severe storms with high winds and hail moved through Ohio on Sunday as a cold front pushed from the northwest into southern and southeastern areas. U S Gunship Targets Laotian Missiles Targeted by Soviet SAM Fire
A North Vietnamese battery fired two missiles at a U S AC130 gunship inside Laos near the Ban Karai pass 31 miles northwest of the DMZ. Big Crowd Attends LHS Band Concert

The seniors were honored as “the spirited ones” as this was their final performance.
