Fire destroys farm residence near Bremen Ohio
An early morning blaze leveled a five room house owned by Mr and Mrs William Bell on Route 312 near the Hocking Fairfield county line. Bremen fire chief Dorr Johnston said the call came at 7 30 A M and the structure was already out of control on arrival. The fire is believed to have resulted from an oil stove explosion. The Bremen department uses a township setup allowing one truck to cover nearby areas.

30 More Volunteer Blood Donors Needed

Two BIS Fugitives Caught After Chase
In Columbus on May 15 sheriff deputies shot at two Boys Industrial School fugitives from Lancaster during a 90 mile an hour car chase. The stolen car crashed into a ditch and a tree but both youths, Kenneth Nutt aged 18 of Columbus and Cephas Cox aged 17 of Cincinnati, escaped from the Lancaster institution and were captured unharmed.
