Miss Retha Lohr, 21, daughter of Mr and Mrs Mark Lohr of 271 Friesner Ave, sworn into the WAAC at Cincinnati after enlisting days earlier. A 1939 Logan High School graduate, she worked at Wright Field before joining the women’s Army corps and has returned home to await active duty. Her brother Mark Jr recently enlisted and is at Ft Hayes, Columbus, while Troy faces a May 28 final medical exam for induction. Also noted is a government plan allowing U S war prisoners and civilian internees held by Germany and Italy to receive tobacco sent by relatives, extended to Japan later, with each identified next of kin receiving two tobacco labels every 60 days.
