The Energy Research and Development Administration will spend 12.6 million dollars to support 80 solar power research projects across 33 states, averaging about 156 thousand dollars per project to show solar heating and cooling for commercial buildings.
A warming trend moved into the Hocking Valley with 64 degrees recorded at 11 a.m. under clear skies after an overnight low of 30. Tuesday's high reached 60 with mostly sunny conditions expected Thursday and near eighty for highs. The area forecasts highs around 80 and lows near 45 to 50 with almost no chance of rain.

The Willis Woodgeard home on Ohio 56 near South Bloomingville burned Tuesday evening. The Woodgeards were away and insurance valued belongings at about $8,000. Firefighters later tackled a separate truck fire on Hocking Drive at Ohio Oil Co. due to a blaze reported 3 40 p m and extinguished on arrival.
