Roy D. Moore 66, native of a Vinton County farm near Hue, died recently and had risen to head a major newspaper empire. Born August 25 1887 he began telegraphy with the Hocking Valley Railway at Hobson. Ohio Judge Author Dies At Age 73

Newark longtime figure Robins Hunter died at 73 in Newark City Hospital. A former mayor who at 30 became Licking County probate judge, he published The Judge Rode a Sorrel Horse in 1950, a book based on his father’s life.

Work At A Plant Halted By Strike

WAVERLY 12 000 men at a large atomic plant halted work as a strike kept the entire plant force off the job. A 200 strong truck driver picket line formed while 15 State Police cars patrolled the area. Workers crossed the lines signed in and then left the plant.
