Homer Edward Glass 71 a former Logan resident died early today at Walbridge from a heart attack after going to work at the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad shops. He had lived in Walbridge since 1930 and earlier worked for Hocking Valley and C and O railroads in Logan and Columbus. Funeral arrangements are being completed by Woodard Funeral Service. Survivors include his wife Lavina two sons Merle of Walbridge Wilmer of Logan three daughters Mrs Mary Fox Mrs Edna Voris and Mrs Jean Belick all of Toledo one brother Charles of Logan and a sister Mrs Elsie Columber of Logan.

Eleven survivors were rescued from a sinking Navy flying boat in the Pacific by Navy LSM 448 nine hours after they landed on the water. Two Sailors Escape Death Swimming Lake Erie Storm
Charles Dana Burke and John Reddock, both 32, survived a two mile swim after their 18 foot canvas kayak capsized two miles off Bratenahl.
