Truckers and Industries Rally Against PUCO Order
About 40 leaders from Logan Valley trucking and local industries gathered at the Logan Trade Club to oppose Administrative Order 189 by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio aimed at curbing irregular route motor transportation. The order, passed March 16 in Columbus, would affect around 1,200 irregular carriers and could force some out of business, with Logan likely to have only one regular carrier. Leaders pushed Gov. Rhodes to intervene and filed a motion for injunction in the Ohio Supreme Court.
